| | Bank and money | You can withdraw cash from Chinese major Banks ATM with an international Bank card. There are many places in Binzhou where you can do it. Generally speaking, the highest amount you can withdraw is 2500 RMB. Even if your bank counselor is not a specialist of China, it is preferable to contact him before leaving. The University will help you to open a bank account at the Bank Of China. Then you will be able to make international transfers. Be it for a withdrawal or an international transfer, your bank will take a commission. To know how much it is, look your bank's prices list. The more you transfer the less expensive. We also suggest that you keep a stock of your country's currency. This can prove to be helpful in case neither a withdrawal nor an international transfer is possible. You can easily exchange your currencies at bank offices gates at attractive rates. Exchanging big amounts in airports is not recommended because of higher exchange rates.
To sum up, we advise you to have some cash with you, that you can exchange here. At the airport it is not necessary to exchange too much: 50 euros or 65 usd is more than enough. If you have nothing special to buy at the airport, it is better that you wait to arrive in Binzhou where the rates are more attractive. Then you will be able to open a bank account. It only costs 10 RMB a year for a credit card and the smallest amount you need to open the account is one RMB. After that you can make an international transfer (it usually takes 3 days). Before the transfer is made you can change your currencies at the bank office's gate. It is also possible to withdraw some money with an international nak card at the airport or downtown. However it is more attractive to change currencies. For big amounts the international transfer is the least expensive way. |
